The whole purpose of our service is to point people to Jesus. Everything we do is to give back to the one who sacrificed it all in order for us to live. Here at Current, everyone is welcome. This is not a place of perfection, but a place of progress. We are not a sanctuary for saints, but a hospital for sinners.
We invite you to join us in Worship and be moved by God, Toward, Forward and Outward.
What to expect on Sunday!
Message
We value the Word of God – The Bible. All of our messages are grounded in Scripture and aim to show how the Bible is relevant to our everyday lives.Check out our past Sermons.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16

Sunday School
We’re glad to provide optional children’s and youth classes with age-appropriate lessons. Our desire is to see every child come to know Jesus and grow in their faith. Children are dismissed from the service just before the message to join their classes. We also have a Baby Zone available for little ones.
Sunday School classes:
Sparks – Ages 3–5 Wave Riders – Years 1–3 Gliders – Years 4–6 Cutting Edge – Years 7–8
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14
Communion
Each week we take time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus as we share in the Lord’s Supper. If you are a Christ-follower, you are invited to share in this time with us.
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. - 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Fellowship & Coffee
We have coffee available every Sunday at 9:45am. Come early, enjoy some fellowship, meet someone new, and be part of our church service this Sunday.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. - Hebrews 10:24-25
FAQs
Where do I park?
We have signs and flags set up that will guide you to our parking location. There is plenty of parking available in and around Papamoa College.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. You’ll see everything from t-shirts and sweatpants to suits and ties. During the summer we often meet outdoors, so shorts, sunglasses, and a singlet are common.
How long does the service last?
Our services typically last around 1 hour and 30 minutes, finishing at about 11:45 am.
Do I need to bring anything?
You don’t need to bring anything with you, but if you have a Bible, we definitely encourage you to bring it along! If you don’t have one, we provide Bibles during the service that you can take home with you.
